Workshop report on the validation of the Anambé irrigation scheme charter

Workshop report on the validation of the Anambé irrigation scheme charter
Document language:

Modou Diouf

This report contains the full details of a workshop organised by GWI and SODAGRI in Kolda on 29 September 2014, where participants discussed and endorsed the Anambé irrigation scheme charter.

Established by consensus between users of the irrigated land and local authorities, the charter, which sets out management principles for efficient and sustainable agricultural development of the Anambé river basin, was discussed at various sharing sessions with beneficiaries before a final validation workshop was held on 29 September 2014. At the workshop, the organisers (GWI-SODAGRI) presented the results of the Charter's design process to 50 participants representing all stakeholders involved in the management and use of the irrigated land (users, technical services, administrative authorities, local officials, civil society, financial and technical partners, etc.), so that they could amend the Charter and adopt it.

The final version of the Charter adopted at the end of the workshop is included in the annexes of the report.
